Being Heard: Speaking
Speaking that Makes a Difference: Pat Dobbs, Hearing Loss Expert
Ready for an improved team environment? Increased productivity? A boost to your revenue potential?
I was always afraid to admit that I had a hearing loss — I was afraid that I would be typecast as slow or less intelligent. What I learned from Pat is that by NOT admitting I had a hearing loss really did typecast me negatively. Now I understand how to communicate better by asking my coworkers to talk to me so I can hear them best. I feel liberated and free to perform my job so much better without the encumbrance of the negative stereotype. — Henry

The Nine Guiding Principles
of Being Heard
Imagine a world where…
… the cost of hearing aids was affordable …
… public venues were all equipped with functioning assistive listening devices …
AND hearing loss will have lost its stigma.
This evolution happens when we release our negative attitudes about hearing loss.
